Real Life Ministries - Serving the Least of These

We seek to show Christ’s compassion by meeting the medical, dental, housing, and spiritual needs of the poor and needy of Mexico.

Real Life Ministries is a Christian organization dedicated to spreading Christ’s love to the poor and needy of Mexico. Following Christ’s example, RLM strives to meet both physical and spiritual needs. RLM meets physical needs by providing professional medical and dental care to the indigent and by building permanent homes for those without shelter. RLM meets spiritual needs by sharing the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and teaching biblical principles for godly living.

Our Vision

Our vision is clear: impact the communities around us with the saving grace of Jesus Christ. This simple vision involves many avenues of ministry. In each, we strive to spread the love of Jesus and the true gospel, free to all who choose to listen and obey. We believe our role in Mexico and in the world is to equip, train, help, and evangelize those whom the Lord puts before us.

Our vision includes establishing partnerships with local churches, ministry organizations, and government. Cultivating these relationships allows us to achieve maximum impact in Mexico. We love and embrace the vibrant culture of Mexico; we seek to help the people of Mexico, not change their rich traditions and culture.

Statement of Faith

We believe that the Bible is the only inspired, infallible, and authorized Word of God.

We believe that there is one God who exists eternally in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His shed blood, His vicarious and redeeming death, His physical resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of God the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of the lost, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and His indwelling presence; through the Spirit’s indwelling the believer is able to live a holy life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved. The saved to the resurrection of life; the lost to a resurrection of condemnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of the believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our History

Real Life Ministries was founded in 1972 by Ken and Beverly Small and Dr. Hazael and Maru Hatchett. The first clinic – “Clinica Filadelfia” – opened in Mexico City that same year.

1972: Real Life Ministries is founded by Ken and Beverly Small, and Dr. Hazael and Maru Hatchett.

1972: “Clinica Filadelfia” opens in Mexico City.

1993: “Clinica Filadelfia I” opens in Tijuana, Mexico.

1995: “Clinica Filadelfia II” opens its doors, since serving thousands of patients annually.

1995: Home building outreach, “Las Tres Palmas,” hands over first set of house keys to a needy family.

1999: “Casa Filadelfia,” a detoxification/rehabilitation center, opens in Tijuana, Mexico.

2001: Established Real Life Ministries de México, A.C.

2005: Announced partnership with “Casa Esperanza,” a women and children’s shelter in Ensenada, Mexico.

2012: Bringing smiles to all, “Dental Filadelfia” opens in Tijuana, Mexico.

2013: Racing with a purpose, the H12:One team enters its first competition.

2014: The “Smile Mobile,” RLM’s mobile dental clinic, makes its inaugural trip into the mountainous regions of Baja.
